- যে phrase বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত হয় adverb -এর মত কাজ করে তাকে Adverbial Phrase বলে ৷
- সাধারনত verb -কে কখন (when), কোথায় (where), কেন (why) ও কিভাবে (how) দ্বারা প্রশ্ন করলে উত্তর হিসেবে যে phrase পাওয়া যায় সেটিই Advrbial phrase.

- যেমন: She spoke in a polite manner. এখানে, 'in a polite manner' (কীভাবে) হলো- adverbial phrase.
- আবার, My brother called on me at the eleventh hour. এখানে, 'at the eleventh hour' (একবারে শেষ মুহূর্তে) হলো- adverbial phrase.

• Phrase preposition
- কয়েকটি word একত্রে Preposition -এর কাজ করে।
- যেমন: in front of, because of ইত্যাদি।
- He waited in front of my home. এখানে, 'in front of' (সামনে) হলো- Phrase preposition কারণ, এটি preposition (before) -এর কাজ করেছে।
