• Subordinate clause:
- যে Clause এ একটি subject & একটি Finite verb থাকার পরেও পূর্ণ অর্থ প্রকাশের জন্যে  principal clause এর উপর নির্ভরশীল তাকে Subordinate clause বলে। 
- Example: When the bell rang, the students rushed out of the classroom.
- এখানে, When the bell rang হচ্ছে subordinate কারণ এটি অর্থ প্রকাশের জন্য অপর clause টির উপরে নির্ভরশীল।
- Subordinate clause সাধারণত who, when how, that, so that, in order to etc দিয়ে আরম্ভ হয়।
