What is 'Paradox' in literature?

♦ Paradox:
- A self-contradictory statement that hides a rational meaning.
- Self-contradictory statement, the underlying meaning of which is revealed only by careful scrutiny.
- কূটাভাস; যে উক্তি আপাতদৃষ্টিতে স্ববিরোধী মনে হলেও সত্যবর্জিত নয়।
- যেখানে দুটি বিষয়ের মধ্যে প্রকৃত বিরোধ নেই কিন্তু আপাত বিরোধ আছে বলে মনে হয়, সেখানে বিরোধাভাস অলংকার (Paradox) হয়।
