♦ Assonance: 
- The Repetition of a vowel sound in nearby words (without the recurrence of consonant sounds which would make a rhyme) is called assonance.
- It is used for musical effect.
- (বিশেষত কাব্যে) দুটি শব্দের স্বরাঘাতযুক্ত স্বরধ্বনিদ্বয়ের মিল– এক্ষেত্রে পরবর্তী ব্যঞ্জনধ্বনিগুলোর মধ্যে কোনো মিল থাকে না; স্বরসাদৃশ্য।
