What does Diction refer to in literature?

• Diction:
- The selection of words in writing or speech.
- A particular writer chooses a particular type of words and phrases অর্থাৎ প্রতিটি লেখকের নিজস্ব বা বিশেষ শব্দচয়ন রয়েছে।
Example:
- John Milton তাঁর লেখায় bombastic, unusual, allusive এবং latinized শব্দের ব্যবহার করেছেন - কিন্তু George Orwell এর সাহিত্য পর্যালোচনা করলে দেখা যায় যে তাঁর লেখায় simple, lucid এবং common শব্দের ব্যবহার বেশি।
- সুতরাং, সাহিত্যিকদের সাহিত্য রচনার জন্য করা শব্দচয়নকে সেই সাহিত্যিকের diction বলা হয়।
