We use “i.e.” in a sentence to mean -

i.e. - id est (= Latin for "that is")- Used especially in writing before a piece of information that makes the meaning of something clearer or shows its true meaning. e.g.- Exempli gratia: - A Latin phrase that means "for example". It can be pronounced as "e.g." or "for example": NB (from Latin ‘nota bene’)- used in writing to make somebody take notice of a particular piece of information that is important.
