Two thirds of the students ____ present today.

একই দৈর্ঘ্য, পরিমাপ বা স্থান বুঝালে Subject দেখতে plural হলেও verb singular হয়।
Ex: Forty miles is a long way.
বাক্যটিতে verb singular হবে তাই are, were হবে না।
বর্তমান নির্দেশক শব্দ today থাকায় is ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।

কিন্তু সংখ্যা বুঝালে Verb Plural হবে
Ex: Two thirds of the students are present today.
