- প্রশ্নোক্ত বাক্যের 'Simple Sentence' হচ্ছে In spite of getting the news he was not happy.

• Complex sentence: 
- যে sentence এ একটি Principal clause এবং এক বা একাধিক Subordinate clause থাকে, তাকে Complex sentence বলে। 
- Complex sentence এর subordinate clause এর শুরুতে সাধারণত if, though, although, as, because, since, so that, that, until, till, unless, when, why, who, which, where, how, before, after, whether, while বসে।

• Though/Although যুক্ত Complex sentence কে simple form এ রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম:
- Though/Although এর স্থানে In spite of ব্যবহার + am/is/are/was/were এর স্থানে being অথবা has/have/had এর স্থানে having অথবা main verb+ ing ব্যবহার হবে + বাকি অংশ + ২য় clause.
Example:
Complex: Though he got the news, he was not happy.
Simple: In spite of getting the news he was not happy.
