Direct: They said, "Long live our leader."
Indirect: They wished that their leader might live long.

• Narration এর নিয়মানুযায়ী,
- Optative sentence এর ক্ষেত্রে, Optative Sentence এর Direct form কে Indirect form এ রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম:
- "said" এর পরিবর্তে wished / prayed বসবে,
- inverted comma উঠে গিয়ে that বসবে,
- reported speech এর subject বসে+ may/ might বসে,
- reported verb এর মূল verb থেকে শেষ পর্যন্ত অংশ বসে।

Other options:
ক) They said that their leader might live long.
- এটি ভুল, কারণ Optative Sentence এর Direct speech কে Indirect speech এ রূপান্তর করার ক্ষেত্রে "said" এর পরিবর্তে wished / prayed বসবে।

খ) They told that their leader might live long.
- এটি ভুল, কারণ Optative Sentence এর Direct speech কে Indirect speech এ রূপান্তর করার ক্ষেত্রে "said" এর পরিবর্তে wished / prayed বসবে।

ঘ) They requested that their leader might live long.
- এটি ভুল, কারণ Optative Sentence এর Direct speech কে Indirect speech এ রূপান্তর করার ক্ষেত্রে "said" এর পরিবর্তে wished / prayed বসবে।
