The word 'If' is used as -

• The word 'If' is used as - Both noun and conjunction.

• If (As a conjunction)
a) on condition that - (If she hadn't called, I wouldn't have known.)
b) used to mean "if it is true that" - (I'm very sorry if I've offended you.)
c) used when you want to make a polite request or remark. - (Would you mind if I open/opened (= can I open) the window?)

- যদি, সম্ভাব্য, কোন কিছুর মাত্রা, শর্ত্মূলক কিংবা সদয় অনুরোধ বা মন্তব্য অর্থে 'if' - conjunction হিসেবে ব্যবহার হয়।
- তাছাড়া আরও কয়েকটি অর্থে conjunction হিসেবে if ব্যবহৃত হয়।

• If (Noun)
- English meaning: Something that is not certain or not yet decided.
- Bangla meaning: কোনো কিছু নিশ্চিত নয় বা এখনও সিদ্ধান্ত হয়নি এমন।

• Ex. Sentence:
1. The question depends on too many ifs to allow an answer.
2. There's a big if hanging over the project.
