The teacher said to the student, "Why are you making a noise?" (Make it indirect)

Direct: The teacher said to the student, "Why are you making a noise?"
Indirect: The teacher asked the student why he was making a noise.

• Interrogative sentence (Direct speech) কে (Indirect speech)- এ রূপান্তর এর নিয়ম:
- প্রথমে Reporting verb-এর Subject বসে এবং Reporting verb "said to" -এর পরিবর্তে asked বসবে।
- তারপর Reported speech টি যদি auxiliary verb দ্বারা শুরু হয় তাহলে Inverted comma তুলে দিয়ে linker হিসেবে if/whether বসবে।
- তবে, Reported speech টি যদি "Wh" word দ্বারা শুরু হয় তাহলে তা অপরিবর্তিত থাকবে।
- তারপর Reported speech-এর Subject বসবে।
- নিয়মানুযায়ী Tense পরিবর্তিত হবে এবং Verb, Subject এর পরে বসে।
- Direct speech টি Present Continuous এ থাকলে Indirect speech এ, তা Past Continuous এ পরিণত হবে।
- তারপর বাকি অংশ বসবে।

• Other options:
খ) The teacher asked the student why he have been making a noise.
- এটি ভুল কারন, Interrogative sentence (Direct speech) কে (Indirect speech)- এ রূপান্তর এর ক্ষেত্রে, Direct speech টি Present Continuous এ থাকলে Indirect speech এ, তা Past Continuous এ পরিণত হবে।

গ) The teacher told the student why he was making a noise.
- এটি ভুল কারন, Interrogative sentence (Direct speech) কে (Indirect speech)- এ রূপান্তর এর ক্ষেত্রে, Reporting verb "said to" -এর পরিবর্তে asked বসবে।

ঘ) The teacher told the student why he have been making a noise.
- এটি ভুল কারন, এটি ভুল কারন, Interrogative sentence (Direct speech) কে (Indirect speech)- এ রূপান্তর এর ক্ষেত্রে, Reporting verb "said to" -এর পরিবর্তে asked বসবে।
