The priest said, "May God forgive your sins." (Change into indirect speech)

Direct: The priest said, "May God forgive your sins."
Indirect: The priest prayed that God might forgive my sins.

• Optative sentence এর ক্ষেত্রে, Optative Sentence এর Direct speech কে Indirect speech এ রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম:
- said এর পরিবর্তে wished/prayed বসবে,
- inverted comma উঠে গিয়ে that বসবে,
- reported speech এর subject বসে + may/ might বসে,
- reported verb এর মূল verb থেকে শেষ পর্যন্ত অংশ বসে।

• প্রদত্ত বাক্যটি একটি Optative Sentence.
- Optative Sentence এর Direct speech কে Indirect speech এ রূপান্তর করার ক্ষেত্রে 'said'-এর পরিবর্তে prayed বসবে।
- Prayed-এর পর সাধারণত সরাসরি object বসে না।
- Reporting verb (said) যেহেতু Past Tense-এ আছে, তাই 'May' পরিবর্তিত হয়ে might হবে।
- Pronoun 'your' পরিবর্তিত হয়ে object অনুযায়ী my হবে।
- Correct answer: The priest prayed that God might forgive my sins.
