Direct: She said, "I visited London last year."
Indirect: She said that she had visited London the previous year.

• Assertive sentence এর Direct narration থেকে Indirect narration -এ পরিবর্তন করার নিয়ম:
- প্রথমে Reporting verb -এর subject বসে।
- তারপর Reporting verb (say/said, tell/told) বসে (যদি থাকে)।
- Reporting verb এ 'said to + object' থাকলে Indirect -এ 'told + object' বসে।
- Inverted comma উঠে গিয়ে that বসে।
- তারপর Reported speech -এর subject এর person পরিবর্তন করতে হয়,
- Reported speech -এর 1st person (I) সবসময় Reporting verb -এর subject -এর number, person, ও gender অনুসারে পরিবর্তিত হয়। যেমন: (I→ she), (me→ her).
- Direct speech টি- past indefinite tense -এ থাকলে Indirect speech - এ, তা past perfect tense-এ পরিবর্তন করতে হয়।
- Direct speech-এ "last year" থাকলে Indirect speech-এ তা পরিবর্তিত হয়ে "the previous year" হয়।

• Other options:
খ) She told that she had visited London the previous year.
- এটি ভুল কারন, Assertive sentence এর Direct narration থেকে Indirect narration -এ পরিবর্তন করার ক্ষেত্রে Reporting verb এ 'said to + object' থাকলে Indirect -এ 'told + object' বসে।

গ) She said that she have visited London the previous year.
- এটি ভুল কারন, Direct speech টি- past indefinite tense -এ থাকলে Indirect speech- এ, তা past perfect tense -এ পরিবর্তন করতে হয়।

ঘ) She told that she have visited London the previous year.
- এটি ভুল কারন, Assertive sentence এর Direct narration থেকে Indirect narration -এ পরিবর্তন করার ক্ষেত্রে Reporting verb এ 'said to + object' থাকলে Indirect -এ 'told + object' বসে।
