একটি বাক্যের চারটি স্থানে Noun clause  বসতে পারে-
1. subject হিসাবে 
2. transitive verb এর object হিসেবে
3. Linking verb এরপরে complement হিসাবে 
4. Preposition এর Object হিসেবে।

• প্রদত্ত বাক্যে 'what they are planning' clause টি Preposition of এর পর বসাতে এটি Noun clause.

- phrase হল কতগুলো শব্দের সমষ্টি যে থাকে কোন সমাপিকা ক্রিয়া (finite verb) থাকে না।
-  Tense এর গঠন অনুসারে যে verb বসে, সেটিই Finite Verb.
- what they are planning এই clause টিতে finite verb আছে তাই, phrase হবে না।
