• Participle phrase:
- A Participle phrase is a group of words that includes a participle (a verb form used as an adjective) and any accompanying words that modify or complement it.
- Participle phrase হল একটি বাক্যাংশ যা একটি participle (অর্থাৎ verb-এর কোন form যা adjective হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়) এবং তার সাথে সম্পর্কিত অন্যান্য উপাদান (যেমন modifier বা object) নিয়ে গঠিত।
- এটি সাধারণত বাক্যে adjective বা adverb হিসেবে কাজ করে।

• Participle Phrase - Adjective/ Adverb Phrase -এর কাজ করে। এটি তিন প্রকার:
a) Present Participle Phrase (Verb+ing + Extension):

b) Past Participle Phrase (Past Participle + Extension):
- Example: Deprived of rights, they left the job.

c) Perfect Participle Phrase (Having + Past Participle + Extension):
- Example: Having returned home, he met his father first.

• Clause ও phrase এর পার্থক্য:
- Clause -এর মধ্যে অবশ্যই একটি Finite Verb বা সমাপিকা ক্রিয়া থাকবে; কিন্তু Verb Phrase ব্যতিত অন্যান্য Phrase -এর মধ্যে কোন Finite Verb বা সমাপিকা ক্রিয়া থাকবে না।
- অন্য কথায় Clause -এর মধ্যে "Verb" Tense -এর Structure অনুযায়ী থাকবে, কিন্তু Phrase -এর মধ্যে 'Verb" নাও থাকতে পারে, আর যদি থাকে তাহলে Tense -এর Structure অনুযায়ী থাকবে না।
