Participle:
- A participle is a verb that ends in -ing (present participle) or -ed, -d, -t, -en, -n (past participle). Participles may function as adjectives, describing or modifying nouns.
- Participle একই সাথে Verb ও Adjective এর কাজ করে।

• Participle মূলত: তিন প্রকার:
1. Present Participle. Ex: Do not disturb a sleeping dog.
2. Past Participle. Ex: This is a book written by Charles Dickens.
3. Perfect Participle. Ex: Having eaten rice, he went to bed.

• Present Participle:
- Present Participle হলো verb-এর সঙ্গে -ing যুক্ত এমন একটি form, যা সাধারণত adjective-এর কাজ করে কোনো noun বা pronoun-কে বর্ণনা করে।
- প্রদত্ত বাক্যে “flying” শব্দটি “bird” noun-টিকে বর্ণনা করছে।
- তাই এখানে 'flying' adjective-এর মতো ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে এবং এটি একটি Present Participle.

• Other Options:
ক) Gerund:
- Verb -এর সাথে ing যোগ হয়ে যদি noun -এর কাজ করে অর্থাৎ, একই সাথে Verb ও noun -এর কাজ করে, তখন তাকে Gerund বলে।
- অর্থাৎ, Gerund হলো verb-এর -ing ফর্ম, যা বাক্যে noun হিসেবে কাজ করে।

খ) Bare infinitive - Verb এর present form এর আগে to বসিয়ে Infinitive গঠন করা হয়।
Bare Infinitive হলো “to” ছাড়া verb-এর মূল রূপ।

ঘ) appositive - Appositive হলো এমন একটি noun বা pronoun- যা প্রায়ই modifier-সহ ব্যবহৃত হয়- এবং অন্য একটি noun বা pronoun-এর পাশে বসে সেটিকে ব্যাখ্যা করে বা তার পরিচয় নির্দিষ্ট করে।
