In spite of his desire, he failed. (Make it compound)

He was desirous (আশাবাদী) but he failed. 
বাংলা অনুবাদ- সে আশাবাদী ছিল, কিন্তু ব্যর্থ হয়েছে। 

Simple sentence এ যদি কোন phrase এ যদি in spite of থাকে তাহলে তাকে compound sentence করতে হলে in spite of তুলে দিয়ে এর স্থলে phrase টিকে clause এ রূপান্তর করে সেই clause এর পর but বসাতে হয় এবং পরবর্তী clause টি তার পরে বসাতে হয়। 

যে Sentence-এ দুই বা তার অধিক Principal Clause থাকে, তাকে Compound Sentence বলে। A Compound Sentence is one which has two or more Principal Clauses.

Compound Sentence-এর clause গুলি সাধারণত: and, or, but, for, so, therefore, then, yet, ‍nor  প্রভৃতি coordinating conjunction দ্বারা যুক্ত থাকে।
