Catastrophe শব্দটি সাহিত্যে বিশেষ করে tragedy বা বিয়োগান্ত নাটক এর ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহৃত হয়। এটি হচ্ছে সেই মুহূর্ত, যেখানে কাহিনির চূড়ান্ত বিপর্যয় বা মূল চরিত্রের পতন ঘটে।

- অন্যভাবে বলতে গেলে, The dreadful consequence of the story of a tragedy is called Catastrophe.
- সাধারণত এটি tragedy তেই ঘটে থাকে।
- It is synonymous with the term 'denouement’.
- প্রধান চরিত্রের করা কিছু ভুলের কারণে নাটকের শেষে তার উপর মহাদূর্যোগ আপতিত হবে।
