• In literature, "Irony" means - A literary device that actually means the opposite of its surface meaning.

​• Irony:
​- 'Irony' is an Expression or statement where real meaning is concealed or contradicted.
​- 'Irony' বলতে মূলত বক্তব্য জোরালো করতে নিজ চিন্তার সম্পূর্ণ বিপরীত কিছু বলে মনোভাব ব্যক্তকরণকে বুঝায়।
​- প্রশংসার আদলে নিন্দা কিংবা নিন্দার আদলে প্রশংসা করা হয় এরূপ রচনা দ্বারা।
​- অর্থাৎ এ ধরনের উক্তি দ্বারা যা বলা হয়, প্ৰকৃত অর্থ তার সম্পুর্ন বিপরীত বুঝানো হয়।
