• No sooner had ..... than, Scarcely had ....... when/before, hardly had ..... before/when থাকলে than, when, before এর পূর্বে verb এর past participle এবং পরে verb এর past form হয়।
• অর্থাৎ, Scarcely had দ্বারা বাক্য শুরু হলে পরের clause টি when/before দ্বারা শুরু করতে হয় এবং প্রথম clause টি past perfect + verb এর past participle এবং দ্বিতীয় clause টি past indefinite হয়।

• মনে রাখা জরুরি,
- no sooner...than, scarcely..when, hardly...when এভাবে আসে।
- যেমন:

• উল্লিখিত অপশনগুলোর মধ্যে -
ক) বাক্যটি ভুল কারণ এখানে scarcly এর সাথে had ব্যবহৃত হয় নি কিন্তু পরের clause এ when ব্যবহৃত হয় নি, কিন্তু past indefinite এসেছে।
গ) নং বাক্যটি ভুল কারণ, বাক্যের শেষে past form rang এর স্থলে rung বসেছে, যা হচ্ছে past participle form of ring.
ঘ) নং বাক্যটি ভুল কারণ বাক্যের শেষে past perfect বসেছে যার ব্যবহার ভুল।
