Indirect Narration এ Past Perfect থাকলে তিনটি Tense হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা আছে (যা নির্ধারিত হবে Adverb of Time, Conjunction ইত্যাদির উপর ভিত্তি করে)। যথা- 
1.    Present Perfect 
2.    Past Indefinite 
3.    Past Perfect
যেহেতু এখানে the previous day উল্লেখ করা আছে, তাই এটা Past Indefinite Tense হওয়াই বাঞ্ছনীয়। আর the previous day এর পরিবর্তে yesterday ব্যবহৃত হবে।
