- Here, 'teaching' is a Gerund.
- প্রদত্ত বাক্যে, "teaching" (verb+ing)- verb 'started' -এর object হিসেবে বসে noun -এর কাজ করেছে তাই এটি gerund.

• Gerund:
- Verb-এর সাথে ing যোগ হয়ে যদি noun-এর কাজ করে অর্থাৎ, একই সাথে Verb ও noun -এর কাজ করে, তখন তাকে Gerund বলে।
- এটি একটি কাজকে (Verb) কে একটি নাম (Noun) হিসেবে বোঝায়।
- এটি বাক্যে Subject, Object, Complement বা Preposition-এর object হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হতে পারে।
- এটি একইসাথে verb ও noun-এর মত আচরণ করে।

Functions of the Gerund:
1. As a subject of a verb: Rising early is a good habit.
2. As an object of a verb: I like reading poetry.
3. As an object of a preposition: I am tired of waiting.
4. As a complement of a verb: Seeing is believing.
5. As absolutely (part of a compound noun): This is my writing table.

অন্যদিকে,
ক) Participle:
- Participle হলো ক্রিয়াপদের এমন এক ধরনের রূপ যা একইসাথে ক্রিয়া (verb) ও বিশেষণ (Adjective) হিসেবে কাজ করে।
- Participle তিন প্রকার:
1. Present Participle.
2. Past Participle.
3. Perfect Participle.

খ) Infinitive:
- Verb এর present form এর আগে to বসিয়ে Infinitive গঠন করা হয়।
- অর্থাৎ, Infinitive = to + verb.
- Infinitive দুই রকম হতে পারে,
1. To-যুক্ত infinitive এবং,
2. To-বিহীন infinitive বা Bare Infinitive.

গ) Verbal noun:
- Verbal Noun:
- যখন Verb + ing (gerund) এর পূর্বে the এবং পরে of বসে তখন তাকে Verbal Noun বলে।
- The + (verb+ing) + of = verbal noun.
- Verbal Noun মূলত verb থেকে তৈরি হলেও এর দ্বারা Noun এর কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়।
