Direct: He said to me, "What is your plan?"
Indirect: He asked me what my plan was.

• Interrogative sentence এর Direct speech কে Indirect speech- এ রূপান্তর এর নিয়ম:
- প্রথমে Reporting verb-এ "said" -এর পরিবর্তে asked বসবে।
- তারপর Reported speech টি যদি auxiliary verb দ্বারা শুরু হয় তাহলে Inverted comma তুলে দিয়ে linker হিসেবে if/whether বসবে।
- তবে, Reported speech টি যদি "Wh" word দ্বারা শুরু হয় তাহলে তা অপরিবর্তিত থাকবে।
- অর্থাৎ, সেই "Wh" question word টি বসবে।
- তারপর Reported speech-এর Object বসবে।
- নিয়মানুযায়ী Tense পরিবর্তিত হবে এবং Verb, Subject এর পরে বসে।
- তারপর বাকি অংশ বসবে।
