ব্যাখ্যা: Exclamatory Sentence-কে Indirect-এ পরিণত করার সময় Exclamatory Sentenceটিকে Assertive Sentence-এ পরিনত করতে হয়। Exclamation-এর প্রকৃতি অনুযায়ী, exclaim in joy, exclaim in grief, exclaim in wonder ইত্যাদি ব্যবহৃত হয়।
কিন্তু যেখানে Exclamation-এর প্রকৃতি সম্বন্ধে নিশ্চিত হওয়া যায় না, সেখানে exclaim বা cry out ব্যবহার করাই সমীচীন। Exclamatory Sentence-এর Reporting Verb -এর অন্যান্য formগুলো হল swear, shout, applaud।
Direct Speech: তিনি বললেন, ‘ওরে বাবা! কী বিরাট সাপ!’
Indirect Speech: তিনি আশ্চর্য হয়ে বললেন যে সাপটি খুব বড়।
