1. subject হিসাবে 
2. transitive verb এর object হিসেবে
3. Linking verb এরপরে complement হিসাবে 
4. Preposition এর Object হিসেবে।

• প্রদত্ত বাক্যে 'where they will go for vacation' clause টি Preposition 'about' এর পর বসাতে এটি Noun clause.
- তাই এটি Preposition এর Object হিসেবে Noun clause.

Clause ও phrase এর পার্থক্য:
- Clause এর মধ্যে অবশ্যই একটি Finite Verb বা সমাপিকা ক্রিয়া থাকবে; কিন্তু Verb Phrase ব্যতিত অন্যান্য Phrase এর মধ্যে কোন Finite Verb বা সমাপিকা ক্রিয়া থাকবে না।
- অন্য কথায় Clause এর মধ্যে Verb - Tense এর Structure অনুযায়ী থাকবে, কিন্তু Phrase এর মধ্যে Verb নাও থাকতে পারে, আর যদি থাকে তাহলে Tense এর Structure অনুযায়ী থাকবে না।
