• প্রশ্নে উল্লেখিত বাক্য গুলোর মধ্যে -I know the boy who stood first in the competition. বাক্যটিতে Adjective clause রয়েছে। 
 
• Adjective clause:
- যে sub-ordinate clause কোনো noun/pronoun এর পরে বসে ঐ noun/pronoun কে modify করে তাকে Adjective Clause বলে। 
- অর্থাৎ noun এর post modifier হিসাবে adjective clause বসে।

• Adjective Clause দুইটি স্থানে বসতে পারে - 
- Noun এর post modifier - (subject + verb + noun + adjective clause) 
- Subject এর  post modifier - (Subject + adjective clause + verb + object)

• প্রশ্নে উল্লেখিত - -I know the boy who stood first in the competition.  এই বাক্যে who stood first in the competition এই  clause টি noun + verb এর পরে বসে তাকে modify করেছে তাই এটি adjective clause.
- Adjective clause মূলত clause সম্পর্কে অতিরিক্ত তথ্য দেয়  এবং এরা relative pronoun (that, who, whose, whom, which, why, when) ইত্যাদি দ্বারা  শুরু হয়।
তবে মনে রাখতে হবে, who এবং which দ্বারা গঠিত clause টি যদি cause or purpose বোঝায় তবে সেটি Adverbial Clause  হিসেবে বিবেচিত হবে।

• I am sure of who you are.  Preposition এরপরে হিসাবে এবং I know what you have said to her - transitive verb এর object হিসেবে - হচ্ছে noun clause.
- A noun clause is a group of words that band together and act like a noun. Nouns clauses are used when a single word isn't enough. They're always dependent clauses.

একটি বাক্যের চারটি স্থানে Noun clause  বসতে পারে-
1. subject হিসাবে 
2. transitive verb এর object হিসেবে
3. Linking verb এরপরে complement হিসাবে 
4. Preposition এরপরে

• We were asked to wait till the signal was given - হচ্ছে Adverbial clause.
- যে subordinate clause একটি বাক্যে একটি adverb হিসেবে কাজ করে এবং একটি verb, বা একটি adjective-clause বা অন্য একটি adverbial clause-কে modify করে তাকে Adverbial Clause বলে।
- Adverbial Clause সবসময় স্থান, কাল,কারন, উদ্দেশ্য, ধরন, ফলাফল ইত্যাদি প্রকাশ করে।
- unless, till, lest, if, though, although ইত্যাদি দ্বারা গঠিত caluse সব সময় Adverbial clause হয়।
