• Complete sentence: If you have a headache, stop watching TV.
- Bangla meaning: যদি তোমার মাথাব্যথা থাকে, টিভি দেখা বন্ধ করো।

• কিছু কিছু word -এর পরে gerund (verb+ing) বসে। যেমন:
- Mind, worth, admit, avoid, consider, enjoy, forgive, forget, save, stop ইত্যাদি।

• Note: পুরোপুরি থামা অর্থে stop অথবা stop+ object -এর পরে সবসময় gerund (verb+ing) বসে।
- কিন্তু, কোনো কিছু করার জন্য বা উদ্দেশ্যে অল্প সময়ের জন্য থামা বোঝালে stop -এর পরে infinitive বসে।
- যেমন: I stopped to drink a glass of water. (কোনো কাজ করার সময় এক গ্লাস পানি খাওয়ার জন্য থেমে ছিল)

- তাছাড়া can not help, with a view to, get used to, would you mind এবং যেকোনো preposition এর পর verb থাকলে উক্ত verb এর present form + ing যুক্ত হয়ে থাকে।
- যেমন:
- I do not mind carrying your bag.
- The girl can not help laughing.
- Would you mind taking a cup of tea?
