Fill in the blank with right form of verb: If I _____ a king, I would have helped the poor.

If I were a king, I would have helped the poor. 
বাংলা অর্থ- আমি যদি রাজা হতাম, গরিব-দুঃখীদের সাহায্য করতাম। 

If যুক্ত Sentence-কে Conditional Sentence বলা হয়। তবে কিছু কিছু ক্ষেত্রে If-এর পরিবর্তে had ও provide that ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Conditional Sentence চার প্রকার। যথা- First, Second, Third & Zero. 

Zero Conditional :
Universal Truth (চিরন্তন সত্য), Habitual Fact (অভ্যাসগত সত্য), Scientific Result (বৈজ্ঞানিক ফলাফল), অর্থ প্রকাশ করলে Zero Conditional হয়, অর্থাৎ If-এর পর দুটি বাক্যই Present Indefinite Tense হয়।
Structure : If Present Indefinite + Present Indefinite
Example- If you come, I may go. 

First Conditional : দুই ধরনের বাক্যে First Conditional হয়।
- এই মাত্র কাজ শেষ হয়েছে, কিন্তু ভবিষ্যতে ফলাফল পাওয়া যাবে এমন বাক্যের ক্ষেত্রে if-এর পরের Sentenceটি Present Perfect Tense হয়।
- ভবিষ্যতে হবে এমন দুটি কাজের ক্ষেত্রে if-এর পর Present Indefinite Tense হয়। 

Structure : If + Present Indifintie + Future Indefinite Tense.
Example : If you study more, you will pass in the exam.

Second Conditional :
If-এর পর Past থাকলে পরবর্তী Sentenceটিতে Past Conditinal, Would/Could/Might + verb-এর base form হয়।
Example- If I were a plant, I would love the rain.

Third Conditional :
If-এর পর Past Perfect Tense থাকলে পরবর্তী Sentenceটিতে Past Perfect Conditional, Would have, could have + verb-এর Past Participle form হয়।

Structure : If + Past Perfect Tense + Past Perfect Conditional
Example : If you had come, I would have gone there.

Conditional sentence এর নিয়মানুসারে, If I were a king, I would have helped the poor - একটি second conditional sentence.
