- অর্থাৎ connotation দ্বারা কোন শব্দের আক্ষরিক না বুঝিয়ে কোনো দ্বৈত অর্থের ব্যবহার বোঝায়।
- It is the suggestion or associated significance implied by a word.
Example:
Home is a place where, when you have to go there,
They have to take you in.
- Here Home literary means a roofed structure to live in but its connotative meaning, as it suggested here, may be peace, intimacy, family bond etc.

অন্যদিকে,
• Conceit - Comparison between two far-fetched objects of different kinds.
• Couplet - two verse lines rhyming together at the end.
• Chiasmus - The inversion in the order of words or phrases when repeated.
