Yes/No Question (প্রশ্নের উত্তর হ্যাঁ বা না) হলে Reported Speech এর আগে if হয়।Reported Speech কে Indirect করার সময় সর্বদা Assertive Sentence এ লিখতে হয়।আর Reporting Verb- Past Tense হলে Reported Speech কে নিয়ম অনুযায়ী পরিবর্তন করতে হয়। নিয়ম হচ্ছে -চার প্রকারের Present হবে চার প্রকারের Past.Past Indefinite হবে Past Perfect.সে অনুসারে সঠিক indirect speech: Jamal asked me if I was happy in my current job.
