- Macbeth ছিলেন স্কটল্যান্ডের রাজা Duncan এর একজন বিশ্বস্ত General.

- নাটকের শুরুতে দেখা যায় তিনজন ডাইনী ( Three Witches) সেনাপতি Macbeth এর সাথে দেখা করে এবং সে ভবিষ্যতে Scotland এবং পার্শ্ববর্তী অঞ্চলের রাজা হবে এই ভবিষ্যদ্বাণী করে।
