যে dependent clause টি adverb-এর মত কাজ করে অর্থাৎ verb এর স্থান, কাল, কারণ, উদ্দেশ্য, ধরণ, ফলাফল ইত্যাদি প্রকাশ করে তাকে adverbial clause বলে। 
সহজ ভাষায়, Principal Clause এর verb কে How, Where, When, Why ইত্যাদি দ্বারা প্রশ্ন করলে adverbial clause পাওয়া যায়৷ আর Principal Clause এর Verb কে When দ্বারা প্রশ্ন করলে Adverb Clause of Time পাওয়া যায়। 

এখানে, when the train left? প্রশ্ন করলে উত্তর পাওয়া যায় - As soon as I reached the station.
তাই এটি Adverb Clause of Time.
