A preposition is a word which is used before a noun, pronoun or noun phrase to express its relationship with some other word in the sentence. 

অর্থাৎ Preposition হলো এমন শব্দ যা কোন noun, pronoun বা  noun phrase এর আগে বসে তার সাথে কয়েকটি বাক্যস্থিত অন্য কোন শব্দের সম্পর্ক প্রকাশ করে। 

বহুল ব্যবহৃত কয়েকটি Preposition হলো: at, on, of, off, by, after, from, upon, behind, along, before, between, besides, about, beyond ইত্যাদি।
