A preposition is a word that answers the question “When” or “Where” something happened in a sentence. It connects nouns or pronouns to other nouns in the sentence.

In other words:

Prepositions show direction, location, or time. Many of the most common prepositions are small words you use every day. At, by, for, from, in, of, on, to, and with are all prepositions.

For example: The dog swam in the lake.

Here in this sentence, এই বাক্যে দুটি Noun আছে, Dog এবং Lake । এবং verb হচ্ছে Swim. এখন, এই দুটি Noun এবং Verb এর মাঝে সম্পর্কটা সঠিক ভাবে নির্দেশ করার জন্যই Preposition ব্যবহৃত হয়।  আমরা জানি, কুকুরটি সাঁতার কাঁটছে, কিন্তু কোথায়? এই প্রশ্নের উত্তর সঠিকভাবে দেয়ার জন্য আমাদের Preposition in   ব্যবহার করতে হবে।
