A lot of food was prepared for the party, but hardly any of it was eaten. Here the word 'hardly any' can be replaced with -

• নগণ্য বা নেই বললেই চলে এমন (almost no) অর্থে countable noun এর পূর্বে few এবং uncountable noun এর পূর্বে little বসে।
- Little মানে not much, hardly any, almost no.
- বাক্যটিতে Food হচ্ছে uncountable noun তাই সঠিক উত্তর হবে little.
- much বসালে বাক্যের অর্থসঙ্গতি থাকবে না।

 • Few/A Few/ The Few (এরা সবসময় Plural Countable Noun এর সাথে বসে)
• Little, a little এবং the little ব্যবহৃত হয় Uncountable Noun এর পূর্বে অর্থাৎ সে সকল Noun গণনা করা যায় না তার পূর্বে।

• Little, a little এবং the little এর মাঝে পার্থক্য :
• Little -
- hardly any. (Used for a negative tone) 
- নেই বললেই চলে।

• A little
- some but not much. (Used for a positive tone)
- আছে কিন্তু খুবই অল্প।

• The little
- not much but all that is available.
- অনেক নয়; কিন্তু যারা আছে সবটুকুই।
