Simile:
- দুটি ভিন্নধর্মী জিনিসের মধ্যে As ও Like দ্বারা তুলনা বোঝালে তাকে Simile বলে।
- A simile is an explicit comparison between two different things.
- Usually as and like are used in it.
- In simile the resemblance is explicitly indicated by the words.
- উপমেয়ের সাথে উপমানের সাদৃশ্য কল্পনা করা।
- যেমন: He fought like a lion.

• Proverb:
- a short sentence, etc., usually known by many people, stating something commonly experienced or giving advice.

• Idiom:
- a group of words in a fixed order that has a particular meaning that is different from the meanings of each word on its own.

• Metaphor:
- Metaphor involves - Implicit comparison.
- Metaphor is an implicit comparison between two different things.
- যখন কোনো বাক্যে দুটি ভিন্ন বা বিজাতীয় জিনিসের মাঝে পরোক্ষভাবে বা রূপকার্থে তুলনা করা হয় তাকে বলা হয় Metaphor.
- সাধারণত Metaphor দ্বারা এমন দুইটি জিনিসের মধ্যে তুলনা দেওয়া হয় যারা একই রকম বা সদৃশ নয় কিন্তু তাদের মধ্যে কিছু সাধারণ মিল থাকে।

• Metaphor এবং Simile এর মাঝে পার্থক্য হলো As ও Like এর উল্লেখ না থাকা।
- অর্থাৎ উপমাবাচক শব্দের প্রয়োগ না করে, উভয়ের মধ্যে সাধারণ গুনের উল্লেখ না করে সাদৃশ্য প্রদর্শনের নাম Metaphor.
